Cumulus Association and Tongji University, Shanghai, China will host the CUMULUS Shanghai Conference 2010, which will be held from September 7-10, 2010 during Shanghai World Expo 2010 and Shanghai Biennale. This event celebrates the 20th anniversary of Cumulus, and will host a special anniversary exhibition, and a student competition with awards of up to 4,000 euro.

The conference will explore how a younger generation of designers can creatively improve our environment and life. The missions and visions of design education, research and practice for young creators, will be discussed along with the economic, political and social impacts of design.

Topic tracks include: Sustainability & Social Innovation, Socio-economics & Design, Local Wisdom & Globalization, and keynote speakers include John Thackara, Ezio Manzini, Lorraine Justice and Jeremy Myerson.

A pre-conference will be held in Beijing from September 3-5th.
