Initially developed by engineers in the ’60s, “Life Cycle Assessment”(LCA, also known as “life cycle analysis,” “ecobalance,” and “cradle-to-grave analysis“) is the investigation and valuation of the total environmental and energy impacts of a given product or service from raw material production, manufacturing, distribution, use and disposal and all transportation involved during the product’s existence.
