I’ve heard that some chapters have hosted events around The Living Principles and was wondering how the event was structured, how The Living Principles and its framework were presented and any feedback that you may have of how it went. I led a small Salon on the Living Principles for the DC chapter in December. The presentation followed the structure of Phil and Gaby’s presentation introducing the principles last fall, but without the powerpoint. I talked a bit about where the impetus for the LP came from and how it was built, talked about the academic background (sources and related materials), and briefly presented the principles themselves. People were interested, but the abstract LP framework is hard to absorb during a brief presentation. The discussion really got going when we moved to the nitty-gritty of working design: recycled papers, FSC certification, power usage, etc.

If anyone at the chapter level wants to host a similar event, Gaby can provide the presentation slides and a PDF version of the LP framework.
