Eat Your Greens: Think Tank
Charlotte, NCHave you ever wanted to incorporate sustainable design into a project but didn’t know how or where to begin? Are you curious about what kinds of criteria make up a certified sustainable design and/or product? Do you want to learn techniques that you can implement in your daily design life and process? Then join us for our next Eat Your Greens luncheon where we will discuss these questions with some real world examples. The event will be a Think Tank where creatives are invited to bring a piece or an idea that they think is sustainable or that could be executed in a more sustainable manner while using the four streams of sustainability from The Living Principles (Culture, Environment, People and Economy) as a guideline.
1. Bring
Bring an example of a product or an idea that is made with sustainable design in mind or that lacks the green touch. Examples would be a Method laundry detergent bottle, OAT shoes, Green Box Pizza Box, Cradle to Cradle “non-paper” book, a takeout container from a local restaurant or the Zipcar idea… you get the gist.
2. Share
Tell the group why you think the product or idea is sustainable or not. If you have no clue, that’s fine! Share it with the group and we will all discuss it together.
3. Improve
Once you share your design idea, we will go around the table and get everyone’s thoughts on what can make it better or note the key elements that make it successful. At the end of the event, we will discuss further interest in exciting design initiatives to engage the local community to flex their sustainable design muscles to shape our culture and ignite change in Charlotte.
