Design for Good Poster Show at The Art Institue of Charlotte
Charlotte, NCThe Guinan Gallery at The Art Institute of Charlotte hosts the AIGA Charlotte Design for Good Poster show! This exhibit is the result of Charlotte’s design community creating posters to inspire positive change in our growing city. This initiative provides an opportunity for designers to meet local nonprofits behind environmental and social issues, develop partnerships and work together to help raise awareness for their cause and to create a better more sustainable Charlotte!
“Design for Good” is part of the ongoing focus The Guinan Gallery places on showcasing a variety of artists, mediums and perspectives, while maintaining its support of the applied design curriculum at the college. The exhibit runs from February 14 – March 30, 2012.

Love the idea behind this event. Just thought of an idea to make posters more life-freindly but since the exhibition only a few days away it’s probably too late to do this. For example, what if you could disassemble the posters in their afterlife and parts of it became postcards that promoted the non-profits (think of a perforated grid that was cut into the poster)! Or, what if the posters were either built from the bottom up or modular and nested?
