Design Advocacy: The Good Food Campaign
Project Description:
In this project, students designed a poster to address the current state of our food system. The posters are a visual response to Will Allen’s A Good Food Manifesto for America, Michael Pollan’s 7 Rules for Eating and the movie Food, Inc. Will Allen’s manifesto is both a call to action and a challenge to our government leaders to eliminate food deserts and to provide safe, healthy food to all citizens. With this in mind, the posters were sent to First Lady Michelle Obama, a champion of healthy eating and the local food movement.
Objective:
To create a functional, self-mailing poster (17″ x 22″ folding down to 8.5″ x 5.5″) that makes a visual statement about a critical, contemporary issue. The use of original imagery was required and typographic experimentation was encouraged.
