Lourdes (Lily) Castañer -Ruano is a design strategist, designer and town planner with over twenty five years of combined experience in marketing, branding, communication design, environmental graphic design, design aspects of town and campus planning; urban development, and urban design. Castañer, has been involved in a diverse range of projects for both the private and public sectors. Her experience encompasses various mixed-use, commercial, institutional, residential, leisure, recreational development, space and energy planning and spectrum of projects in town and campus planning for the private sector, while public sector assignments include local planning development, site research, site analysis studies for several national and local governments. Her involvement in these projects has ranged from project management, planning and strategy, sign programming and urban wayfinding projects; broad community based outreach planning and implementation of specific master plans; development of design collaboration guidelines for TND's (Traditional Neighborhood Development), Healthcare space planning, Therapeutic design and Aging in Place Community projects. She has managed over 40 large-scale community projects for Duany Plater-Zyberk and Correa and Associates in the U.S., Latin America, the Caribbean and in Europe. Presently she is completing a dual degree in architecture and art at the University of Miami.
