Colores & Creaciones: Expanding Opportunities for Peruvian Artisans
Problem:
Colores & Creaciones is a retail group in Cajamarca, Peru that represents nine handcraft artisan workshops. The artists utilize sustainable, ancestral techniques while incorporating modern aesthetics into their work. Their products include ceramics, jewelry, textiles, and toys. The group wishes to expand to a larger domestic and international market. In order to accomplish this goal, they require a strong brand identity and eCommerce website to represent the artists and their culture.
Objective:
To create a visual communication system that allows potential customers and organizations that support fair trade and socially responsible products to easily find Colores & Creaciones, and to perceive the group as both authentic and professional. A variety of print-based materials are used to project a visual identity that employs objects, forms and colors from the culture of Cajamarca. The eCommerce website allows for direct purchasing of products, and provides cultural information for viewers.
